Windows 10 is coming to an end - here's what you need to know
On 14 October 2025, Microsoft will no longer be providing free software updates, technical assistance or security fixes for Windows 10 users.
All Windows users are encouraged to upgrade to Windows 11 before that date to ensure business continuity and protect against security risks.
Why upgrade?
The most common question we get asked is, ‘will our PCs still work if we don’t upgrade?’
Yes, your computers will still work and continue to run the old Windows OS, but not upgrading to Windows 11 leaves your entire IT environment vulnerable to:
- Exposure to malware and ransomware
- New security risks – outdated systems are prime targets for cybercriminals who exploit known security flaws.
- Software and hardware compatibility problems, leading to performance issues and system crashes.
- Decreased productivity as old operating systems struggle to keep up with modern applications and workloads.
- Compliance and regulatory risks associated with using an outdated operating system, especially if your industry has specific data security requirements.
- Increased downtime, as outdated systems are less efficient and battle to handle new software or hardware.
What you need to do
If you’re ready to upgrade to Windows 11, you’ll need to first check if your PCs meet the minimum technical requirements for the upgrade. We can audit your business’s hardware to see which PCs qualify for the Windows 11 upgrade, and which ones need to be replaced.
If your PCs are older and don’t meet the minimum requirements, you’ll need to purchase new PCs that are compatible with Windows 11.
We can assist you with replacing your PCs with new machines, within your budget, that are suited to the nature of your work and the expected workloads of your team in the years ahead. Our upgrade road map for your business will ensure your IT ecosystem remains safe, secure and compliant while we roll out the upgrade, with minimal business interruption.
Don’t worry about losing data in upgrading to Windows 11 or switching to new machines. We’ll make sure your files, photos, settings, apps and log in credentials are saved, so you don’t lose any important data in the process.
